Thank you for visiting us!  Whether you came to this page after visiting us at Rockford's Pride Alley Party or heard about us some other way, we are glad you came.  Rockford Area Lutheran Ministries is an organization made up of 20 local congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in AmericaThis is Christ's church. There is a place for you here. We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person – questions, complexities and all.

Where does the Lutheran Church stand on LGBT issues and other questions of our time?

The short answer; Members of the LGBTQIA+ community are welcome to the full life of the church and all of its blessings, to enjoy all of the joys and costs of discipleship.  Period. No caveats.  Nothing held back.

If you want to learn more; We live in a complex world and our church does not shy away from the tough questions we face as a society and children of God.  The church has developed social statements that guide us as a church and form the conscience of our members.  You can review these social statements here.  If you have questions about them please contact us (director@ralm.faith) and we can put you in touch with someone who wants to engage and discuss our beliefs with you; not IMPOSE our beliefs on you.

The Lutheran Church believes in engaging with and serving in our community.  We take seriously the words of Jesus from Matthew 25 when Jesus tells us to feed the hungry, welcome the stranger and care for the sick. (Matthew 25:31-46)

Each morning in Rockford, through our Lutheran ministries at Lutheran Social Services, Mosaic Group Homes, Trinity House and others, almost 1000 people wake up under our care.

We provide food through numerous pantries and feeding sites and clean clothes through multiple ministries.

We come together as people of God to worship and to serve and the more people we welcome to that worship and work, the better we can accomplish great things for God!

We NEED you!  Won't you join us?

We know how intimidating it can be to walk into a new place as a stranger; whether it's to visit a new church or to be a first-time volunteer at a new outreach.

At RALM we'd be happy to introduce you to people ahead of your visit.  You can communicate with them via messenger or text, by phone or email, whatever your preferred method is, we'll figure it out,  and proceed at whatever pace you're comfortable with.

Send us an email at director@ralm.faith and we'll be happy to set up a connection.  With 20 churches to choose from and literally dozens of volunteer opportunities, we can definitely find a place just for you!
